Transportation Services

Lack of transportation should never be a barrier to independence. NuPath Inc. maintains a fleet of modern vehicles to meet the transportation needs of the people in our program.

Our transportation services include:

Safe, comfortable and well-maintained vehicles
Adaptive safety features
Centralized transportation scheduling and coordination
Direct transportation to jobs and community on-site programs
Punctual service coordinated with pick-up and drop off times
Flexible schedules to meet different work schedules
Back-up vehicles for uninterrupted service
Utilization of public transportation where appropriate
Self-pay options

Referrals for transportation services come from the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS), the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), the Division of Mental Assistance (DMA), family members, advocates and the people we serve. Funding for our transportation services comes from DDS, DMH, MRC, DMA and a variety of private pay options.

Two fun facts about NuPath’s Transportation Department:

NuPath’s transportation fleet travels more than 1.3 million miles each year (the equivalent of driving to the moon and back 3 times or to the West Coast and back 216 times!)
To travel this distance, NuPath’s vehicles require more than 73,000 gallons of gas (an amount that would fuel an average American’s driving for more than 137 years!).
